Held between the surgical site and the operating personnel, the shield provides a clear undistorted view, while helping to protect the patient andpersonnel from possible contamination. The reamer-slotted version allows the shield to straddle a reamer shaft or drill bit, allowing the shield to be closer to the incision. The shield is autoclavable and gas sterilizable in a flat position.
